Seminar on A Prevention to Train Accident

[attachment=816]

INTRODUCTION

Some times train driver may become help less in stopping the train in short distance. When sudden brakes are applied (air brake) due to large number of bogies they may collide with each other or derail from railway track or may climb one over another which leads to lot of damage. To reduce damage and to give stability to the bogies electromagnetic concept is used. And to avoid train accidents due to floods, sensors are used. Also by the continuity checking system flows in tracks can be detected.

OBJECTIVES

To save valuable human lives and property.
To prevent damage of Railway property, loss of traffic, loss of public good will.
To prevent the railway accidents (due to floods, derailment).
To make the Indian railways to run more smoothly and help the people in exchanging of ideas and goods between people and different regions of the country.

METHODOLOGY

With the concept of electromagnetism the problem which arises due to apply of sudden brakes may be over come. By applying a solenoid over the wheel shafts of bogies, the wheels can be magnetized and wheels get attracted by the tracks, there by the bogies can not get derailed from the track or can not climb one over the other.

PRECAUTIONS

1. Due to large number of turns in electromagnet, large amount of heat is produced due to joule heating effect.
2. Tracks must be so strongly fixed to ground so that they may not be lifted with wheels.
3. Un-interrupted power supply to flood level sensor indicator.
4. Good quality wiring and regular checking is required for checking of continuity of tracks.
