The Mobile Agent based Intrusion Detection System (MINDS) deploy mobile agents from a central control node to target machines, at pre specified time intervals. Mobile agents are objects that can migrate from node to node in a heterogeneous network, at times and to places of their own choosing. The state of the object is saved, transported to the new node, and restored, allowing the object to continue where it left off. These agents check for changes in the monitored files using md5checksum algorithm. Any changes found will be considered as a security violation and will be notified to the administrator through immediate alerts or emails.
