New 41,884 Auto Permit to be issues in several parts of Maharashtra in January 2016 including 2022 for Nagpur and About 35,628 new autoriksha permits will be issued in Mumbai and rest will be issued in Pune, Aurangabad, and Nashik areas.
The process of issuing these permits will be via an online lottery system on RTO s online portal website. The application form submission for New Mumbai Auto permits will end on 7th january 2016 at 5PM
A total 6,256 autorickshaw permits will be issued for Nagpur, Pune, Aurangabad, Nashik and Pune areas, while the major chunk of 35,628 autorickshaw permits will be allotted in Mumbai region, said a senior officer from Nagpur city RTO. But the auto drivers in the nagpur city are not happy with the decision of issuing lesser number of permits. As per Vilas Bhalekar, the president of Vidarbha Autorickshaw Chalak Association Though I think these permits are necessary, the 2,072 permits that are being allotted by the government are the same number of permits that existed in 1997 but were later taken away.
