Brief description about project:

The aim of the project is to control home appliances like Television, air conditioner etc., using voice command given by the user who wishes to access it remotely. The overall module should be miniature to enable portability. Frequency modulation has advantages over other kinds as it has greater freedom from interference. Hence we use frequency modulation at the transmitter.

The transmitter consists of a microphone which works by converting sound pressure into a varying voltage, an amplifier, FM modulation circuit,transmission circuit(antenna). The output of the microphone is given to amplifier whose output is then frequency modulated and transmitted which contains voice command given by the user.

The receiving system has an antenna, amplifier, a demodulator and a speech recognition circuit(IC) along with a micro controller(Atmega 16) which controls the appliance using a relay.

Applications:
1) Used for controlling the appliances from far place.
2) System provides security in preserving vital information when the device to be controlled is of great importance.
3) Using a micro controller at the receiver several actions of the device can be controlled.
4) Handicapped people can get maximum advantage from the system.
