Optimal Intelligent Controller for Matrix Converter Induction Motor Drive System
Posted by: surya s nair - 08-16-2017, 08:44 PM - Forum: Seminar Requests - Replies (2)

[attachment=1575]
Its a new control algorithm for a matrix converter (MC) induction motor drive system. a new switching strategy, which applies a back-propagation neural network to adjust a pseudo dc bus voltage, to reduce the current harmonics of the induction motor, and a two-degree-of-freedom controller is to improve the system performance. The controller design algorithm can be applied in an adjustable speed control system and a position control system to obtain good transient responses and good load disturbance rejection abilities. The implementation of this kind of controller is only possible by using a high-speed digital signal processor

  Positive Extension Matrix
Posted by: ambre_vivek - 08-16-2017, 08:44 PM - Forum: Computer Science Seminar Topics - No Replies

The extension matrix method is that at first, we find the distinguishing between the positive examples and negative examples. The extension matrix is used to represent those distinguishes, and then according to those distinguishes, the examples are induced so that the proper assertions are obtained. The extension matrix clearly reflects the distinguishing between positive examples and negative examples. It is easy to find the heuristic of a problem relying on it.

Nowadays there are AE1, AE5 , AE9 and AE11 algorithms that are created by relying on the extension matrix. All those algorithms are creating the heuristics starting from the nature of the path. In the algorithms, a rule is simplest with AE11, and it obtains the simpler rule than the AQ15. The algorithm AE18 we proposed in the paper also belongs to the extension matrix. It is based on the positive extension matrix (PEM). It also creates heuristics to induce starting from the nature of the path. In the inducing the algorithm prior selects the required elements.

In order to optimize our positive matrix algorithm, this talk will presents the algorithm AE18 and makes comparisons with our experimental results

1. INTRODUCTION
Today's mobile phones have more processing power than typical desktop computers of the last millennium. Even the Portable Media Players (PMPs) have more sophisticated processors than the revolutionary Pentium processor launched 15 years back. On top of that, mobile phones, PMPs and other handheld devices are getting smaller and thinner with increasing battery life.
So, what makes these new generation handheld devices tick? Ticking at 200MHz or more, these devices are powered by a small silicon chip -the size of about 10mm x 10mm, which contains almost all components of a powerful computer including processor core, memory controller, interrupt controller, timer, multimedia co-processors or digital signal processor (DSP) etc. This silicon chip, along with the software running on it, is called a System-on-Chip or SoC.
We use a cutting-edge technology for development of electronics and devices based on Systems-on-Chip (SoC) from the leading semiconductor manufacturers such as Intel, Texas Instruments, Atmel, Sharp, and NetSilicon. This breakthrough technology allows creating competitive products with rich functionality while saving your time-to-market and expenses. Electronic device development with a new functional level based on MCU or DSP require significant amount of resources and a highly qualified team of hardware engineers, often resulting in failing to fit into project time frame.
The SoC has been talked about, marketed, and accepted in the new millennium, especially for embedded applications. More recently, with announcements of high-performance SoC designs such as the Cell chip, and use of these chips in consumer products including the Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Microsoft XBox, it has become clear that SoC designs will have broad impact. What is really exciting about SoC architecture is that supercomputing and embedded computing may become the cutting edge of computer architecture. For supercomputing this is nothing new, but embedded systems have often followed rather than led architecture.
1.1 What is a SoC?
System-on-chip is an integration of almost all components of a computer into a single integrated circuit (chip). The SoC consists of both the hardware (HW) components of the computer as well as the software (SW) that controls the microprocessor and peripherals.
SoCs include not only the brains (e.g. microprocessor) but also all required ancillary electronics, such as switches, comparators, resistors, capacitors, timing elements, and digital logic. While having the required interfaces (for example Ethernet, USB, LCD) onboard and almost the same functionality as a single board industrial computer (SBC), the embedded System-on-Chip (SoC) module provides additional advantages such as minimized footprint, operation in extended temperature range, minimized power consumption suitable for use in mobile environments.
Figure 1: AMD Geode is a x86 compatible system-on-a-chip
1.2 Structure of SoC
A typical SoC consists of:
One microcontroller, one microprocessor or DSP core(s). Some SOCs called multiprocessor System-on-Chip (MPSoC) include more than one processor core.
Memory blocks including a selection of ROM, RAM, EEPROM and Flash.
Timing sources including oscillators and phase-locked loops.
Peripherals including counter-timers, real-time timers and power-on reset generators.
External interfaces including industry standards such as USB, FireWire, Ethernet, USART, SPI.
Analog interfaces including ADCs and DACs.
Voltage regulators and power management circuits.

  Automatic Street Light Control System

Automatic Streetlight

Introduction

Automatic Streetlight needs no manual operation for switching ON and OFF when there is need of light. It detects itself weather there is need for light or not. When darkness rises to a certain value then automatically streetlight is switched ON and when there is other source of light i.e. day time, the street light gets OFF. The sensitiveness of the street light canal so be adjusted. In our project we have used four L.E.D for indication of bulb but for high power switching one can connect Relay (electromagnetic switch) at the output of pin 1 of I.C LM358 Then it will be possible to turn ON/OFF any electrical appliances connected all the way through relay.
PRINCIPLE:
1) This circuit uses a popular timer I.C LM 358. I.C LM358 is connected as comparator with pin-6 connected with positive rail, the output goes high(1) when the trigger pin 3 is at lower then voltage level at pin no 2. Conversely the output goes low (0) when it is above pin no 2 level. So small change in the voltage of pin-2 is enough to change the level of output (pin-1) from 1 to 0 and 0 to 1. The output has only two states high and low and can not remain in any intermediate stage. It is powered by a 12V power supply. The circuit is economic in power consumption. Pin 4 is ground and pin 8 is connected to the positive supply and pin 1 is grounded. To detect the present of an object we have used LDR and a source of light. LDR is a special type of resistance whose value depends on the brightness of the light, which is falling on it. It has resistance of about 1 mega ohm when in total darkness, but a resistance of only about 5k ohms when brightness illuminated. It responds to a large part of light spectrum. We have made a potential divider circuit with LDR and 10K variable resistance connected in series. We know that voltage is directly proportional to conductance so low voltage we will get from this divider when LDR is getting light and high voltage in darkness. This divided voltage is given to pin 2 of IC LM358. Variable resistance is so adjusted that it crosses potential of 1/2 in darkness and fall below 1/2 in light. Sensitiveness can be adjusted by this variable resistance. As soon as LDR gets light the voltage of pin 2 drops of the supply voltage and pin 3 gets high and LED or buzzer which is connected to the output gets activated.

web based stationery management system with source

This project is aimed at developing a tool for tracking the Stationery request for any Institution. Normally in any institution the request for the stationery is tracked via an e-mail or via excel sheets or registers and this leads to tremendous wastage of resources. For example: - there may be scenarios where the quantity kept in the godown or store of the item may be more than needed and the supply of few items may be less than needed. This system will thus help in reducing the wastage at the same time look into generating reports to give a high level view to the higher management for the benefit of the organization.Over the past few years, the Internet has played a very important role be it at home, work or school. Internet applications such as online shopping and online voting has been widely accepted worldwide. This project focuses on the significance of online systems technology for managing stationeries in UTP, to enhance the systems from manual to online and to implement an integrated system. The development methodology of this research is based on the author's own methodology which involves phases such as Analysis, Design and Construction. The project is being developed using server side scripting, PFIP and MySQL database. Using the manual system, UTP has to face a few problems such as difficulties onmanaging staffdata, stationery request forms and stationeries as well. By implementing a new web based systems those problems can be minimized as well as saving costof purchasing papers.

there may be scenarios where the quantity kept in the go down or store of the item may be more than needed and the supply of few items may be less than needed. This system will thus help in reducing the wastage at the same time look into generating reports to give a high level view to the higher management for the benefit of the organization. Keywords Generic technology keywords Databases, network and middleware, programming Specific technology keywords Ms-sql server, html, active server pages or Ms-sql server, java, jsp Project type keywords Analysis, design, implementation, testing, user interface Functional components of the project Following is a list of functionalities of the system. More functionalities that you find appropriate can be added to this list. And, in places where the description of a functionality is not adequate, you can make appropriate assumptions and proceed. There are registered people in the system. Some are approvers. An approver can also be a requestor. In an organization, the hierarchy could be engineers/managers/business managers/managing director etc. In a college, it could be lecturer/professor/head of the department/dean/principal etc.

1 . a person should be able to

login to the system through the first page of the application
change the password after logging into the system
check the availability of the stationery items. (role based)
apply for new stationery request, specifying the to dates and his/her superior s email id.
see his/her current stationery applications and the status of the same that are submitted to him/her for approval or cancellation.
see his/her eligibility details (like how much money purchase request can be made by his or her based on role)
approve/reject the stationery applications that are submitted to him/her.
withdraw his/her new stationery request application (which has not been approved yet).
cancel his/her stationery request application (which has been already approved). This will need to be approved by his/her superior
get help about the stationery management system on how to use the different features of the system

2 . as soon as a stationery request is entered or a stationery request is cancelled /withdrawn /approved /rejectied or password-changed, an automatic email should be sent to the person and his superior giving details about the action. In case the amount of the request has exceeded the threshold, the approval mail must be sent to the superior for the same.

3 . the manager must be able to login to the system and get the report (simple html) for each stationery item and the % cost incurred for that item. Also the report giving the total cost incurred with the head count for each item and the cumulative cost associated with it. Steps to start-off the project There are couple of alternatives to implement such a system.
A . Microsoft platform: the system is developed using active server pages as the Front end and sql server as the back end and vb as the middle layer ( having all the business functionality).
B . Microsoft platform: the system is developed using java server pages as the Front end and sql server as the back end and middle layer of pure java classes. The following steps will be helpful to start off the project.

1 . study and be comfortable with technologies such as
a . active server pages/html /java scripting (to make it browser independent)/ java ( middle layer comprising of all the business logic and the db connection and other common components) and sql server.
b . jsp, java/html/ vb script c . some links to these technologies are given in the guidelines and references section of this document

2 . decide on a stationery request policy (i. e . , the amount of cost to be associated with the role of the employee etc).

3 . make a database of people at different levels with their roles and form a hirearchy of them, like which role reports to which particular role. Decide on the various details of the people and their roles that would be stored in the database (like employee/registration-number, name, grade, location, system-login, password in cryptic form, etc)

4 . assign a mail-admin who will create mail-ids for the people in the intranet of your lab or in the internet. These mail-ids will be used for sending automatic notifications and reports. The mail-admin will also take care of assigning the logins to the users of the stationery management system

5 . create the front-page of the stationery management system giving a brief description about the system and a login box

6 . create the help-pages of the system in the form of q&a. This will help you also when implementing the system

7 . create other sub-systems like automatic notification, screens for various functions (like create, update, delete, cancel etc) Requirements Hardware requirements Number description alternative s (if available) 1 pc with 2 gb hard-disk and 512 mb ram not applicable Software requirements Number description alternative s (if available)
1 windows 95/98/xp with ms-office
2 ms-sql server ms-access
3 oracle database system postgres
4 jdk1. 3, java help docs.
5 iplanet webserver iis web server 6 weblogic/ application server apache tomcat
