NOISE REDUCTION USING MODIFIED PROGRESSIVE SWITCHING MEDIAN FILTER - dev d - 10-04-2017 NOISE REDUCTION USING MODIFIED PROGRESSIVE SWITCHING MEDIAN FILTER(MPSMF) Guided By, Presented By, SABICA MISS DEVINA GIRISH JINO SHAJAHAN SOJA SUNDAR.S SOORYA.T.S Introduction Noise reduction is the process of removing noise from an image. Images taken with both digital cameras and conventional film cameras will pick up noise from a variety of sources. Many further uses of these images require that the noise will be partially removed - for aesthetic purposes as in artistic work or marketing, or for practical purposes such as computer vision. Various noises may affect the clarity of the image. The main aim of our project is to remove a particular noise called salt & pepper noises from the image using improved progressive switching median filter algorithm. Existing System Existing system uses different median filter algorithms for noise reduction such as Classical median filter Adaptive median filter Progressive switching median filter Existing median filter methods have many disadvantages.
