Project on Maintenance of Insurance Policy

[attachment=713]
PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

As this project is meant for the LIC customer who enquires about the POLICY, benefit and premium etc. On the basis of these details policy is done by the customer.
As the LIC AGENT management system is designed in a generalized manner so that it can be used by the LIC agent. Through this system the whole management of the LIC transactions, details, etc. can also be maintained smoothly.
This system will specify the process starting from the enquiry of the customer for policy or policy made by the customer and the transactions of the customer.
The main aim of the project is to make the query response fast . The entire work of processing should be done with a high speed i.e., the updating and modification of the list of customer and their transaction, etc.
This system will provide different reports with information e.g. policy enquiry, policy done, premium due list of the customer etc. This system will also provide all details information which are necessary for the management of the system.

COMPLETE ANALYSIS

THE COMPLETE REALISATION AND ANALYSIS OF A SYSTEM REQUIREMENT IS VERY ESSENTIAL FOR DEVELOPING A WELL-DESIGNED SYSTEM. IT IS PROCESS OF DISCOVERY, REFINEMENT, MODELING AND SPECIFICATION. ANALYSIS OF THE ENTIRE WORK HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE AND DURING THE PHASES OF DEVELOPING THE SYSTEM WITH AN EYE TO THE USER S NEED AS FOLLOWS.

IDENTIFYING USER NEED

AS THE SYSTEM IS MEANT FOR THE QUERIES OF THE CUSTOMER, POLICY DETAILS PREMIUM, CUSTOMER TRANSACTION, CUSTOMER VISIT, COMMISSION, EXPENSES , IT MUST ACT LIKE A SYSTEM HAVING ALMOST ALL THE FACILITIES ONE COULD EXPECT IN A CONVENTIONAL SYSTEM. PRIMARY INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE FOLLOWING FEATURES TO BE INCORPORATED IN THE SYSTEM.

QUICK QUERY RESPONSE

THE CUSTOMER EXPECTS QUICK QUERY RESPONSE, WHICH WOULD NOT BE ALWAYS POSSIBLE IN MANUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE SYSTEM. THE CUSTOMERS ALWAYS EXPECT TO GO GET A CLEAR AND UPDATE INFORMATION REGARDING THE DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF THE SYSTEM SUCH AS POLICY, PREMIUM, COMMISSION, CUSTOMER VISIT EXPENSES ETC, WHICH MIGHT NOT BE EXPECTED FROM MANUAL SYSTEM UP TO SATISFACTORY LEVEL.

FASTER PROCESSING

THE MAIN AIM OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT IS NOT ONLY TO MAKE THE QUERY RESPONSE FAST BUT ENTIRE PROCESSING WOULD ALSO BE DONE WITH A HIGH SPEED. PROCESSING WOULD INCLUDE OPENING NEW POLICY, NEXT PREMIUM DUE DATE, MATURITY DATE ETC.

ACCESSIBILITY

By applying these principles, the analyst approaches a problem systematically. The information domain is examined so that functions may be understood more completely. Models are used so that the characteristics of function and behavior can be communicated in a compact fashion. Portioning is applied to reduce complexity. Essential and implementation views of the software are necessary to accommodate the logical constraints imposed by processing requirements and the physical constraints imposed by other system element.

DESIGN
Design is the process of applying various techniques and principle for purpose of defining a device, a process or a system in sufficient details to permit its physical realization . The designer s goal is to produce a model or representation of an entity that will later be build. The process by which the model is developed combines intuition and judgement based on experience in building similar entities, a set of principles and / or heuristics that guide the way in which the model evolves, a set of criteria that enables quality to be judged, and a process of iteration that ultimately leads to a final design representation.
