Data Communication OVER Smart Grid

[attachment=17769]

INTRODUCTION

An electrical grid is the one that is used to transfer energy from the producers to consumers
Our present grid seems to have many flaws by which there are too many loss on power and economy
The Smart grid is an upgrade from the nearly 10 decade old power grids
A smart grid delivers electricity from suppliers to consumers using digital technology to save energy, reduce cost and increase reliability.

Smart grid

Smart grid can be defined as the integration of an electric grid, a communications network, software, and hardware to monitor, control and manage the creation, distribution, storage and consumption of energy.
Grid that is made up of numerous automated Transmission & Distribution systems, all operating in a coordinated, efficient and reliable manner
The 21st century Smart Grid reaches every electric element, it is self-healing, reliable, it is interactive, and it is distributed.

1.Integrated communications

Integrated communications will allow for real-time control, information and data exchange to optimize system reliability, asset utilization, and security.

Substation automation
Demand response
SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition)
Energy management systems
Wireless mesh networks
Power-line carrier communications
