PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is a type of general industrial control platforms. Based on the SIMENS S7-200 series PLC, this article introduces a control scheme of the cutting metal plate control system in the flame cutting machine. The hardware design and PLC program are given in details, which reach the exact position and the fixed length cut by the stepper motor through PLC control. In addition, the system configuration simulation is performed by the King View software application. The control system has multiple modes of operation, high reliability, stability and is able to meet the variety of different job requirements. The automatic control of the cutting plates is achieved. The control system applies to real projects and can greatly improve productivity.
