DOEACC CC

The Department of Information Technology has approved and is funding an initiative to certify all Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) of the CSC Scheme in the DOEACC Society s Course on Computer Concept (CC). The objectives of this initiative are:

To enable the VLE to impart CC Course training to citizens in his locality, thereby increase his service offerings and income.
Create a standard benchmark for minimum level of digital literacy of VLEs across India that is recognised by the various government departments (both State and Central line ministries).
Further, DIT has approved a pilot Women's Literacy Scheme that provides VLEs incentives for training women in the CC Course.

In order to take advantage of this Scheme, the VLEs must receive the CC Course Certification by passing the CC examination and they must procure the authorization from DOEACC Society to impart CC training to citizens.

About the Course on Computer Concept (CC):
The CC course is designed as a basic-level IT literacy program for learners with little or no experience with computers. The CC course content is as follows:
Introduction to Computer
Introduction to GUI based Operating Systems
Elements of Word Processing
Spreadsheets
Computer Communication and Internet
WW and Web Browsers
Communication and Collaboration
Making Small Presentations
The Course duration is 80 hours and it is available in English as well as in Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Urdu. For further details, visit: http://doeacc.edujsp/cc_exam.htm

Scheme Implementation Modalities:

1- Exam Registration for the VLEs: VLEs can register for the CC exam either online through the DOEACC portal or offline with the Regional DOEACC Center.

Once registered online, the physical forms still need to be submitted to the regional center by the SCA
Alternatively, registration can be done offline by submitting the registration form at the relevant DOEACC Regional Center . The registration form is available online at: http://doeacc.eduCC/pdf/may2008/exam_from

Further, each Regional Center conducts the CC examination on a regular basis. Please enquire with Regional Center closest to you for its examination schedule.
2- Exam Registration Payment: The exam registration fee is Rs. 360 and should be made at time of registration.

Online payments can be made while registering through the DOEACC Portal.

Note: SCAs may pay through a single Demand Draft for all VLEs being registered by them at the Regional Center.
3- Examination Preparation:
Online Training: The VLE can download the CC course material from the following page link for free and self-study for the exam: http://doeacc.edujsp/cc_elearn_download.htm or http://elearn.doeacc.edu.in
Classroom Training: The VLEs can attend a classroom training session conducted by DOEACC s Regional Center. The SCAs will need to coordinate this with the nearest Regional DOEACC Center. The VLE will be required to pay Rs.300 to participate in the training as per the original project guidelines.
4. Acquiring the Authorization to Impart CC Training: Once the VLE has passed the CC exam and acquired the certification, they will be required to apply for the authorization to impart CC training to citizens. The SCA will be required to submit the following forms on behalf of the VLEs, to the CSC SPV:

a. Authorization Application Form for CC Course for CSCs(VLE)-Final
b. RULES OF CONDUCT OF CC COURSE
c. All supporting documents that are required

Abstract

The Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC) is an autonomous scientific society under the Indian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and is involved in training, consulting, product development, entrepreneurship and human resource development in information, electronics & communication technologies. It is based in New Delhi with a network of centers on the globe. The DOEACC Society was created by the Department of Electronics to implement a scheme of the AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education), with a view to harness the resources available in the private sector for training in the Computers, with a view to meet the increasing requirement of the trained manpower. In December 2002,other Societies of the Department of Information Technology, (Dept. of Electronics was renamed as Dept. of Information Technology) like CEDT Aurangabad, CEDT Calicut, CEDT Jammu/Srinagar, CEDT Tezpur/Guwahati, CEDT Imphal, CEDT Aizwal, CEDT Gorakhpur, RCC Chandigarh, RCC Kolkatta were merged into the DOEACC Society. The acronym CEDT stands for Centre for Electronic Design and Technology and RCC stands for Regional Computer Centre. DOEACC Society is now National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology
