Equipment Performance Study on Voltage Regulators
#1

Statistical analysis and predictive modeling is used here as a method for the equipment performance study on voltage regulators. The the number and types
of failure that frequently occured in the different types of single-phase voltage
regulators were determined. The article identifies the type of voltage regulator that showed the maximum number of failures and also type of failures occurred and investigates the reasons for those.

Voltage Regulators

The function of the voltage regulators is to maintain a relatively constant voltage level within limits set by the electric utility. All the distribution stations have a Single-phase voltage regulators which is very important for providing
reliable power to the customers. the range of loading conditions tends to change the transmission voltage level which is then adjusted by the voltage regulators by increasing or decreasing the difference in the voltage level from
the transformer to the distribution circuits. A maximum of 10% voltage variation in intervals (steps) from the neutral level is provided by most of the transformers. power quality problems, potential damage to customers equipment and power outages can be caused by the damage of the voltage regulator system.
