RAIN SWITCH

[attachment=18417]

INTRODUCTION

There are so many electrical devices in our daily life that we needed to switch it ON when it rains. And there are also other appliances that are needed to be switched OFF at the time of raining.
When we reside in our home then these works are easily done by us .But what about when nobody is at home.This creates a problem that how some electrical appliances will be switched on and some other will be switched off at raining?

Rain switch would be ideal for this problem.
Rain Switch is a device that makes some electrical appliances OFF and it also makes some other appliances ON when it rains..
It has two arrangements. When It is fixed in its Arrangement -1 it makes some electrical appliance switched OFF at raining. When it is fixed in its Arrangements -2 it makes some other electrical Appliances switched ON at raining.

ARRANGEMENT OF ACCESSORIES

A rectangular box is taken.
In one of the sides of the rectangular box, a small cup is attached.
In the other side of the box a metallic brush is attached.
This rectangular box is fixed in the larger thermocol box, this rectangular box is attached like a Balance, so that the brush side of the box is heavier than the cup side.
A funnel is fixed on the larger box, so that the rainwater can go directly into the cup through it.

Working of ARRANGEMENT-1

When the rain water goes to the cup through the funnel, the cup side of the box becomes heavier. This makes the brush side up. Thus the contact of the brush and the lower metallic plate is broken.
Hence the circuit is broken, and the appliance gets switched off.
When the rain stops the water comes out from the cup through the hole.
Hence the rectangular box again comes to its original position and thus the circuit is broken.
