Virtual reality modelling language
#1

VRML is a language for creating 3D models using a set of primitive geometrical shapes. Some browsers such as Netscape have plug-ins ( Live 3Dand Cosmo Player) at enable you to view these 3D structures. The most well known open browsers are Openvrm, Freewrl,Vrmlview The most powerful aspect of VRML is that it provides sy access to manipulation and visualization of 3D objects for 'ordinary people'. In the past, 3D graphics of this quality was only accessible to those with powerful (and very expensive) workstations. An even more important aspect of VRML is that it is now becoming a standard for 3D structures on the WW. Since popular browsers such as Netscape and Internet Explorer are available for free, a large number of people have now access to sophisticated multimedia on their PC's. VRML does not only provide the ability to inspect 3D models, but DYNAMICS and INTERACTIVITY too.
