Maruti is a subsidiary company of Japanese automaker Suzuki Motor Corporation. Maruti Suzuki offers a full range of cars from the entry level Maruti 800 and Alto, to the hatchback Ritz, A-Star, Swift, Wagon-R, Estillo and DZire sedans, SX4, in segment 'C' Maruti Eeco, Ertiga all-purpose vehicle and Grand Vitara sports utility vehicle.
It was the first company in India to mass produce and sell more than a million cars. It is largely credited for having brought in an automobile revolution to India. It is the market leader in India, and on September 17, 2007, Maruti Udyog Limited was renamed Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The headquarters of the company is located at Nelson Mandela Rd, New Delhi. In February 2012, the company sold its 10 million vehicles in India.
