The snickometre is making its return to New Zealand cricket to supplement the decision review system in the Black Caps' last two Tests against the West Indies.

The International Cricket Council confirmed that the technology that is also currently being used across the ditch in the ongoing Ashes series, will be used at the Basin Reserve in Wellington and at Seddon Park in Hamilton for the third Test later this month.

"The RTS is not yet on the list of approved DRS technologies but the ICC commenced the process of evaluating it for inclusion following ICC Chief Executives' Committee's meeting in September during which broad support was shown for the new technology," The ICC said in a statement.
