NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
National Service Scheme popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Mahatma Gandhi Centenary year 1969 and aimed at developing student's personality through community service. The overall objective of National Service is educational. This objective is attained through the service to the community.
National Service Scheme (NSS) is a permanent Youth Program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and funded by Government of Tamilnadu and Government of India in the ratio 5: 7.
Activities of The NSS Unit
National Service Scheme is an Indian Government sponsored program under the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. It was launched in Gandhiji's Centennial year, 1969, aimed at "Developing Student's Personality Through Community Service".
The NSS Unit of PSG College of Nursing was started in the year 2000 with an aim to inculcate the social welfare thoughts in the students, and to provide service to the society without any prejudice.
NSS Advisory Committee Meeting
The advisory committee members met together and planned the activities for the whole year under the guidance of Chairperson Dr.Malarvizhi.G, Principal Incharge, NSS Program Officer Mrs.Maheswari.T. And Asst. NSS Program Officer Mrs. J. Poornima Mary Rodriguez. The advisory committee met regularly to plan and discuss about various activities.
