The GSM modem provides the communication mechanism between the user and the predefined number via SMS messages. This project uses a relay to switch devices and voice recognition chip for the recognition of audio announcements and micro-controller, which is programmed, with the help of embedded C instructions. The speech recognition system which is the input module to the micro-controller takes the voice instruction given by the user as input and the controller judges whether the instruction is ON \ OFF the device and according to the voice of the user the mechanism Switching controls the devices. An SMS alert message is sent to the mobile phone via a GSM modem and the status of the device is displayed on the LCD.
