Preliminary results, based on experimental research in the laboratory and numerical study on the detection of fault lines live in high-voltage composite insulator is depicted conducting the proposed method is based on the E-field of non-invasive sensing Using pigtail electro-optic (EO) and compact single-ended probe. Laboratory tests conducted to verify these results and showed the effectiveness of a new method of detection. The results of the experiment have shown that evidence, EO Use optimal orientation, E-field sensor for the detection and localization of defect which is as short as possible to 15 mm 1 mm in contact with the OWNER of the electrode and 26 mm 2 mm between the barns. In addition, experimental tests demonstrated the ability of the sensor to detect the presence of EO Corona caused by conductive defects.
