Abstract
The Quorum A-160 Security Monitor is a sophisticated, pressure-sensative alarm that's designed for one purpose - to detect break-ins. When an intruder forces his way into your home, it causes a change in the air pressure within the room. This change produces sub-audible "shockwaves" that are immediately detected by the A-160. The A-160 reacts instantly, filling your home with a piercing, 103 decibel alarm to alert you and frighten off the intruder. Easy to follow instructions show you exactly how and where to locate your A-160 for proper detection. And since it's a self-contained system, you won't have to bother with electrical connections or wiring. Best of all, your A-160 is easy to use. Just insert your key and turn it to the ARMED position. When you're on your way out, you have a full 45 seconds to close the door behind you. You pre-program the system so that when you get back, you'll have up to 20 seconds to re-insert your key and turn it OFF. If the unit is accidentally activated, the alarm ends as soon as you turn it OFF with the key. Unattended, the alarm sounds for five deafening minutes. It is therefore mandatory that due care be given to ensure that the premises are properly locked, including all doors, windows or other points of entry. The product is not designed to detect the opening of unlocked dorrs, sliding doors and windows. If these doors and windows are locked, a "forced break-in" would be required to penetrate, which the A-160 is designed to detect.
