traffic light system with pedestrian switch

I am a 3rd year ece student.I have been assigned to do a mini project on microcontroller 8051.I have decided to go for the traffic light system with pedestrian switch as this seems interesting as well as worthful to me.
please provide me all the details regarding this project including source code,circuit diagram and all other necessary information.I am running short of time for its submission.

The idea "traffic light system with pedestrian switch" seems like , a mat lay on pedestrian path and while walking on this mat make a pressure on it (may be load cell or pressure transducer) , and this pressure trigger the circuit for switch on the lighting system for some time ..
