iris recognition-modified hierarchical phase based matching
This article presents an efficient algorithm for iris recognition based on Hierarchical Phase-Based Image Matching (HPM) technique.The many different parameters in feature extraction process varies according to the conditions, environmental factors of image
acquisition etc. In the proposed system , there is a training database that contains an iris for each individual. At the matching score level
architecture, the decision is taken by the HPM where the enrollment
templates are compared with the query images created . A matching score is computed by each subsystem based on the proximity of feature vector
and
template. The decision module is then supplied the combined individual scores. highly robust iris recognition is made possible by the Fourier transforms of iris images which requires only a simple matching algorithm to be utilised.

Hierarchical Phase Based Matching(HPM) Algorithm
Te two different stages are:
-Pre-processing stage :
This consists of Iris Localization to detect the inner
(iris/pupil) boundary and the outer (iris/sclera) boundary

-Matching stage :
Here the , Effective region extraction is done to extract the effective regions using the algorithm and Matching score calculation is done where the BLPOC function is calculated and evaluate the
matching score.
