Modular VLIW Processor Based on FPGA
Modern FPGA chips, with their larger memory capacity and reconfigurability potential, are opening new frontiers in rapid prototyping of embedded systems. With the coming of high density FPGAs, it is now possible to implement a high performance VLIW processor core on an FPGA. Very Long Instruction Word(VLIW) processors are often used in the embedded systems design domain to obtain high performance. The compilers must provide sufficient level parallelism(ILP) in program code so that the performance of the procesor can be fully extracted. This problem is easily tackled using the advanced compiler technology.A DSP C6201 VHDL from MDES definition with VLIW architecture model using compiler technology is presented in this article.

INTRODUCTION
The usage of FPGAs is increasing for the construction of system on chips(SoCs). FPGA designing has an advantage over ASIC that the Designing for FPGAs brings lower non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs than
designing the same SoC for an ASIC. Rapid prototyping of embedded systems can be done on a FPGA with its reconfigurability and easy integration capacity.

MODULAR VLIW PROCESSOR
OpenIMPACT compiler: It compiles the original source code into an
assembly intermediate representation (IR) called Lcode. The ILP is supported . a trace-driven simulator and an ILP compiler is offered by the OpenIMPACT environment.
