wireless charging through microwaves full report
#1

(02-02-2010, 05:02 PM)project report tiger Wrote: With mobile phone becoming basic part of the life, the recharging of mobile phone batteries has always been a problem. the mobile phone vary in their task time and battery stand by according to their manufacture and batteries. All these phone irrespective of their manufacturer and batteries have to be put recharge after the battery has drained out the main objective of this current proposal is to make recharging of the mobile phone independent of their manufacture and battery maker. In this paper a new proposal has been made so as to make the recharging of the mobile phones is done automatically as you talk in your mobile phone!. This is done by using microwaves. the microwave signal transmitted from the transmitter along with message signal using special kind of antennas called slotted wave guide antenna at a frequency of 2.45GHz .There are minimal additions ,which have to be made in the mobile handsets ,which are the addition of sensor, a "rectenna" and a filter with the above setup, the need for seperate chargers for mobile phone is eliminated and makes charging universal .Thus the more you talk the more is your mobile charge level ,With this proposal the manufacture would be able to remove the talk time and battery stand by from their phone specifications

Wireless Charging through microwaves

INRODUCTION

Portable electronic devices are basic part of our life.

Difficulties of carry a battery charger or an extra battery.

Energy harvesting-Gathering transmitted energy to power a circuit or storing it for later use.

It is a type of charging the battery with the help of microwaves present in the air using energy harvesting concept.

Abundance of energy all around us at all time.

Components Required

The design of the wireless battery charger consist of these major components;

Transmitter- In practical cases doesn t need. Becouse
the mobile tower, radio stations etc replace it.

Charge pump-A circuit which convert AC to DC and elevates the DC level.

Antenna-In practical cases does nt need. Mobile has itself.

Receiver-Consist a rectenna and a sensor circuit.

TRANSMITTER

Consist of a 915 MHz oscillator-capable of outputting a low AC signal.

Amplify the signal using an amplifier.

A radiating antenna is used to radiate the signal.

6mW of power radiated.

I. ABSTRACT
This report covers the basis and design of the wireless battery charger. The wireless charger will convert the RF/ microwave signal at 900 MHz frequency into a DC signal, and then store the power into an AA battery. The project is divided into 3 parts: transmitter, antenna, and charging circuit. A complete discussion of the specifications of the battery charger is provided after data measurements. This report also includes component list, financial, data results, and other key information.
