FOR THE MOTION

The current educational scenario in our nation is not something to boast about. The faulty education system and anachronous curriculum framework has exposed the ugly truth of the quality of education. The deteriorating and insipid pedagogy followed in our educational institution has rendered the education process dull & boring.
Further there is lack of provision of practical knowledge in our educational system which makes the scene further worst. The lack of industry college based interface in the curriculum assures that the Under Graduates have 50% (theoretical) professional degree experience. Exposure, which is vital to in build the practical and technical know-how, is missing.
Indian people are always driven by the dollar driven work. That s the only reason why many of the students graduating or post graduating from IITs and IIMs tend to take a flight to abroad, leading to BRAINDRAIN in our country.
Some social backwardness and traditions are also hamperingIndia s progress. For e.g. lack of women empowerment and women discrimination is one of the reasons why a major proportion of skilled manpower is left futile.
Many of the graduates are under-paid due to their inadequacy and lack of skilled maneuver. (State facts & fig). The dearth of skilled man-power can be corroborated by the fact that there are only a few Indian dignitaries at high level posts of all the multi-national companies set up across India.

AGAINST THE MOTION

Indiais one of the largest populated countries in the world. SoIndiahas an abundant amount of manpower, which is one of the reasons most of the multi-national companies are establishing their base production headquarters in countries likeIndia&China.
Besides, India is one of the top 6 countries who have the scientists and scholars who have proved their mettle across the globe when it comes to aeronautics, nuclear power, strength and bravery (of Indian army) or weapons of war like Agni, Prithvi. Moreover, the recent Indian Spacecraft Chandrayan s successful launch and establishment has added feathers to the Indian glory.
As far as skilled manpower is concerned, Indiais a developing country and so it is trying to incorporate all the technological skills and putting up efforts to match up the skill & requirements and has headed a good distance in this direction already. A lot of R&D projects undertaken by TATA, BIRLA, and RELIANCE are some of the examples.
Green revolution and white revolution in Indiawere some of the prominent examples which illustrated the superior technical know- how and high level of skills of the Indian people. It was so successful that the country like Canadatook the assistance of Indian farmers and called for Indian technical experts for help.
