recycling of waste water
#1

Recycle means to recover useful materials from garbage or waste or it can also be defined as to extract and reuse. While recycling is a term generally applied to aluminium cans, glass bottles & newspaper, water can be recycled as well. Nature reuses & recycles its resources without creating toxic dumps or polluted waterways. By imitating nature we can learn to recycle our wastewater relatively inexpensively, with minimal distribution cost &the bonus of reclaimed resources. Scientists are now recognizing the simplicity and effectiveness of nature s processes and are blending technology with natural systems to create more efficient wastewater recycling, reuse &management. In this seminar I have tried to give importance for necessity of wastewater recycling, its methodology, benefit s & reuse of recycling of wastewater. As water demands and environmental needs grow, water recycling will play a greater role in our overall water supply. By working together to overcome obstacles, water recycling, along with water conservation, can help us to conserve & sustainbly manage our vital water resources. As water recycling has more benefits ad uses which can be widely applicable it can be considered as a proven technology and cost effective in long term. As seen in an example that if recycled water nearly about 216x10^6L/H/D can be used for various purposes such as gardening , irrigation, ground water recharging etc; tremendous amount of water can be saved which can then be supplied to area where water is scarce. The treatment of wastewater for reuse and installation of distribution system can be initially expensive compared to water supply alternatives as imported water or ground water, so if we in INDIA start using the technology of water recycling depending upon characteristics of sewage, viable method which can be adopted, and usage of water after recycling, it can help us for conserving our water resources which are depleting at very faster rate. Hence, water recycling also should be given due importance with other water conservation projects thus making our water resources self sufficient.

Water recycling applications in the industry
Zero discharge of water
Zero discharge changed from a technical description of 100% wastewater recycling to a goal. recycling of all industrial wastewater is the essence of zero discharge. wastewater will be treated and used again in the process and wastewater will not be released on the sewer system or surface water.

water reuse for agricultural irrigation
treated wastewater is growing in demand in many parts of the world because of Water shortages, deterioration of water quality, and environmental constraints etc. municipal wastewater effluent is used for agricultural water reuse. This need is graver in the arid regions. wastewater contains plant nutrients and soil amendments. agricultural areas may be adjacent to treatment plants, and crops can level the charges .

Water disinfection and reuse in greenhouse horticulture.
Soil-less growing systems are becoming common in horticultural practice in most of the European countries.
-Increased quality of products
-Better control of growth by use of improved water quality and a better fertilization
etc are the advantages of this type of agriculture.

Water reuse in the paper and cellulose industry
Paper and cellulose industry is forced are forced to reduce their water consumption.. Normally the wastewater from a paper plant is biologically treated, but the quality of the effluent may be good enough for disposal but it is not high enough for reuse as process water. membrane filtration, Micro filtration (MF), Ultra filtration (UF) and Nano filtration (UF) etc are the different methods used for filtration.
