Construct a high-gain portable audio amplifier that is sensitive to a fluctuating infrared
light using the recommended circuit and equivalent components listed. Soldering,
drilling, and gluing will be required. The MC1458 dual op amp specification sheet is
available online. Each person will prepare an individual semi-formal lab report. Your
grade is based on the working project (40%) and your individually written report (60%).
Each group will work on building the tester, but reports are to be done individually.
There will be no credit for a report that has anything copied from someone else, other
than the oscilloscope printouts and data collected as a group. B2Spice is to be done
individually. Use tables where appropriate and use Excel or similar program for plots.
Data will include Input (Vi), 1st stage output (Vo1), 2nd stage output (Vo2), and transformer
output (Vo3). B2Spice schematics and plots as well as oscilloscope printouts are required.
Analysis will compare theoretical, simulated, and experimental data in the form of a
table. The true value , in comparing the data, is considered the theoretical value.
