space solution for world problem

[attachment=16797]
1. Introduction:-

Satellite based technology for achieving development goals SPACIAL SOLUTIONS for the World s Problems most satellites point inwards rather than outwards!

Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) are universally acknowledged as powerful tools for development. ICTs are not only essential to social development and economic growth, but are critical to the development of good governance as well as providing solutions to the vital problems. A communications satellite is a radio relay station in orbit above the earth that receives, amplifies, and redirects analog and digital signals carried on a specific radio frequency. Satellites can be classified by their functions. Satellites are launched into space to do a specific job. The type of satellite that is launched to monitor cloud patterns for a weather station will be different than a satellite launched to send television signals. The satellite must be designed specifically to fulfill its function.

SPACIAL SOLUTIONS for the World s Problems, WHY IS IT USEFUL?

This is the age of technology & everything changes so rapidly, development requires an up-to-date and comprehensive information base to support planning (before implementation) and decision-making. Spatial data, acquired by either space-(through satellites in remote regions as well as for the fast access any where any time) or ground-based means, is an increasingly important part of this information base (for various ongoing projects). The Internet and satellite communication services allow for dynamic information sharing and exchange between partners in sustainable development within and outside.

Education, training and capacity building
o How space can help in providing education in under developing countries
Space Technologies
o Environmental assessment, agriculture and land use managing its resources.
Weather and Climate
o Water, Forests, Combating Marine Pollution.
Space Applications
o For human security, development and welfare, Health, refugees, post-crisis recovery and development, disasters.

Remote Sensing satellites - Radarsat Remote sensing is observing and measuring our environment from a distance. So, remote sensing satellites are usually put into space to monitor resources important for humans. For example, remote sensing satellites might track animal migration, locate mineral deposits, watch agricultural crops for weather damage, or see how fast the forests are being cut down.

Search and Rescue satellites - Cospas-Sarsat Sure satellites can transmit radio and television signals, but can they save lives too? Of course they can! Search and rescue satellites are designed to provide a way for vessels at sea and in the air to communicate from remote areas. These satellites can detect and locate emergency beacons carried by ships, aircrafts, or individuals in remote or dangerous places.

Spatial Data and Information Management and Exchange

Sustainable development requires an up-to-date and comprehensive information base to support Planning and decision-making. Spatial data, acquired by either space- or ground-based means, is an increasingly important part of this information base. The Internet and satellite communication services allow for active information sharing and exchange between peoples, thus enhancing the benefits of matching activities. Thus the sharing of information has helped already appreciably enhanced inter-agency cooperation, reduced duplication of efforts and achieved concrete benefits.
