Auxiliary Verbs 

*Auxiliary Verbs നെ  on Helping verbs എന്നും പറയുണ്ട്.
* English ൽ  24 Auxiliary Verbs ഉണ്ട് 
*അതിനെ  Primary Auxiliaries എന്നും  Modal Auxiliaries എന്നും പറയുന്നു.
Primary Auxiliaries 
*’Be’ family - am, is are, was, were 
‘Do’ family - do, does, did 
‘Have’ family - have, has, had


Modal Auxiliaries
will, would, shall, should, can, could, may, might, must, used to. ought to, need, dare
*Primary auxiliaries നെ  auxiliary verbs ആയും  main verbs ആയും manis verbs ആയും  ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. 
eg. 1. He is working as a teacher (ഇവിടെ ‘ is; auxiliary verbആണ്
 2. He is a teacher (ഇവിടെ ‘is’ main verb ആണ്)
എന്നാൽ
Modal auxiliaries are mainly used as auxiliaries and not as main verbs.
 But need and “dare” are called “semi modals” because 
they can be used both as auxiliary verbs and as main verbs. 


Uses of Primary Auxiliaries
“Am is used with ‘I’ in the present tense.
eg. I am a student 
‘Is’ is used with 3rd person singular subjects in the present tense.
eg. She is a teacher.
Uses of Primary Auxiliaries 0.
eg. We have finished the work (present perfect)

*‘Are' is used with plural subjects in the present 
eg. They are employees

*Was' is used with singular subjects in the past. 
eg: It was fine. He was happy. 
The news was true 

*Were is used with plural subjects in the present.
 eg. They were present 

*“Do” is used with plural subjects in the present 
eg. Ladies enjoy watching serials on theT v
 (ഇതിലെ "enjoy'യിൽ 'do' ഉണ്ട്) 
(do + enjoy = enjoy), 

*“Does’ is used with singular subjects in the present.
eg. Water boils at 100°C (does + boil = boils)
 (ഇതിലെ boils ൽ does ഉണ്ട്)

*Did is used with both singular and plural subjects in the past.
eg. It rained here (did + rain = rained) 
(ഇതിലെ  rained ൽ  ‘did’ ഉണ്ട് )
Did it rain here ?
It did not rain here.
Manju and Renju did not come here.

*Have is used with plural subjects in the present.
Eg : We have Finshed the Work (present perfect )
*Has is used with singular subjects in the
present. 
eg: Mohan has completed the work.

*“Had is used with both singular and plural subjects in the past.
eg. Sanju had a car, My parents had a car
