No sooner had she read the letter than she fainted.
Hardly/Scarcely/barely is followed by 'when
No sooner is followed by "than'.
*Rather ..... than': പ്രതീക്ഷയ്ക്ക് വിരുദ്ധമായി സംഭവിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളെ ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. 
eg: Man should build bridges rather than walls.
subordinating conjunctions
ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തിയുടെ ഫലത്തെയോ അതിനെ തുടർന്നുണ്ടാകുന്ന മറ്റൊരു പ്രവൃത്തിയെയോ ബന്ധി പ്പിക്കാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നവയാണ്

*Although' / ‘though'(എന്നിട്ടും) 
eg. Although the lawyer argued well, he lost the Case.
*As soon as” (ഉടൻ തന്നെ ...)
eg. As soon as the clock struck five the officer Went out.
“As long as” (എത്ര നാൾ വരെയോ അത്ര നാൾ ) 
eg. Let us be honest as long as life lasts.
* As if (എന്ന പോലെ )
eg. He speaks a lot as if he was a scholar.
*'Even if (എങ്കിൽപ്പോലും) 
eg. Even if I had time I could not study well.
*while? (അന്നേരം/ആ സമയത്ത്) 
eg. While I was talking on the phone, the doorbell rang.
*Unless' (അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം) 
eg. Unless you work hard, you won't get first class.
*As well as”(ഉൾപ്പെടെ )
eg. The teachers as well as the head master were
present.
