Smart Electronic Components Dispenser
#1

there are several thousands of universities in the world and most of them offer electrical engineering courses and have laboratories where students conduct experiments in electronics. A lot of time is wasted in gathering the required passive components for the experiment like resistors and capacitors as these components have colour codes and students have to interpret the values based on the colour codes. this project is a smart and elegant electronic components dispenser which dispenses components according to the students needs. Every student is bound to have an ID card as it is mandatory in many institutions to possess one. We embed a RFID tag into the ID card and also install a RFID reader in the dispenser. A database is integrated with the dispenser which contains details about the student and the experiments completed or left to do. The reader detects the tag and the database supplies the required data to the processor. The processor then dispenses the components according to the experiment and also prints a copy of the manual for that particular experiment using a printer attached to it. As far as the dispenser is concerned, it has an inbuilt rotating centrifuge with cylinders containing the components. A stepper motor at the base rotates according to signals from the processor and the required component is dispensed through an outlet onto a soft cotton bed to avoid physical damage
