INTRODUCTION

X-ray computer tomography and computed tomography (CT) or computerized tomography (CAT scan) is a medical imaging procedure that uses computer processed x-rays to produce a tomographic images or "slices" of specific parts of the body. These cross-sectional images are used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in various areas of medicine. Medical device (apparatus), is called "CTG scanner", this is a great machine and uses x-rays.

That's actually a CT.. ??

CT produces a volume of data that can be manipulated through a process known as "window" in order to demonstrate various bodily structures based on their ability to block the x-ray beam. Although historically the images were generated in the axial or transverse plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the body, modern scanners allow this amount of data that must be reformatted in different planes or even three-dimensional (3D) representation structures. Although most common in medicine, CT is also used in other areas, such as non-destructive testing of materials. Another example is the archaeological applications, such as render the contents of the sarcophagus.

Some CT WORK??

1. CT SCAN emits a series of narrow beams through the human body as it moves in an arc, unlike the x-ray machine, which sends only one beam. The resulting image is much more detailed than the one on the x-ray.
2. Inside there are x-ray detector CT scanner, which you can see hundreds of different levels of density. You can see this nude body fabric inside. This data is transmitted to the computer, which builds a 3-D cross-sectional picture of the parts of the body and displays it on the screen.
3. the accuracy and speed of the CT can be improved with the use of spiral computer tomography X-ray beam. spiral path takes during the scan-it collects continuous data without gaps between images

PROCESS..;

CT scan computerized tomography. It uses x-rays and a computer to produce detailed images of the inside of your body.
CT scanner consists of an x-ray tube, which revolves around your body. You tend to move continuously through the rotating beam. The rays will be analyzed with the help of the detector on the opposite side of the body.
Image obtained by computed tomography, known as tomography and in more detail than standard x-rays. CT can produce images of structures inside the body including internal organs, blood vessels, bones, and tumors.

When using a CT scan..??

CT SCANS can be used to diagnose and monitor the various in different conditions, including brain tumors, certain Conditions of bones and internal injuries, such as kidneys, liver or spleen.
They are also often used to search within the body before other procedure takes place, for example, radiation therapy or biopsy (where a small sample of tissue was made so that it can be examined under a microscope).

Results ..;

CT usually take place on an outpatient basis, which means that you will be able to go home the same day as the procedure.
The results of your scan will not be available immediately. the computer must process information from your scan, which will then be reviewed by a radiologist (specialist in interpreting body image).
After analyzing the images, radiologist write a report and send it to a specialist or a general practitioner. It usually takes a few weeks.
