Ever since Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 has caught the fancy of TV buffs, its older cousin Antakshari has faded into oblivion and gone off-air.
But the show s anchor Annu Kapoor thinks otherwise,
Music shows may come and go, but Antakshari will go on forever. The actor who celebrated his 50th birthday is confident that Zee will revive the mother of all Indian music contests .
Kapoor denies that that he is undergoing withdrawal symptoms after hosting the show for over a decade. He says, By God s grace, my name is synonymous with Antakshari across the globe.
Even though it has taken a sabbatical in India, NRI music-event impresario Georgy Bhaala has organized a series of televised NRI Antakshari contests for Asians in cities of USA and Canada. I will be hosting them. He states passionately, The show must go on. Antakshari ka kabhi anth nahin ho sakta!
According to channel sources the show s director Gajendra Singh is planning to revive Antakshari in a revamped format.
