INTRODUCTION

The mentioned project is based on ROBOTICS. Robotics playing a vital role in the modern era of technology. A robot can be defined as a mechanical device programmed to perform a manipulative task under automatic control. Robots are normally used in conjunction with auxiliary devices such as machines and fixtures. Due to technological advancement robot has become an integral part of automation in a manufacturing process. Because of rapid advancement in technology, automation is must in all areas of manufacturing and in human comfort. This project gives an idea about how robotics can improve production, accuracy in industrial applications as well as reduce human casualties in hazardous area.
.
Programmable automation is a major part of modern industrial automation. The designed robotic arm is reprogrammable, multifunctional manipulator designed to move material, parts and tools. The designed project can be operated in three ways. We can control it using Joystick, using serial communication (using PC) and automatic control. In which joystick control does not need microcontroller. In serial communication we have used keyboard keys to control robotic arm. In automatic control system we are implementing colour recognizing system and sorting the ball accordingly.

Robotic arm

ABSTRACT

Robotic arm has become popular in the world of robotics. The essential part of the robotic arm is a programmable microcontroller based brick capable of driving basically it have DC motors design to form an anthropomorphic structure. This paper explains the method of interfacing the Design and Development of Embedded Based Robotic Arm with the programmed ARM-based microcontroller which is used to control the robot operations. We have employed the Embedded C language in programming our microcontroller. A sample robot which can grab (by magnetizing) and release small objects (by demagnetizing) is built for demonstrating the method.
Based on the combination of advanced RISC microprocessor (ARM), this paper introduces an approach for developing embedded robot control systems. The design of embedded control system includes four aspects, i.e., system structure, functions, hardware, and software design. In the development of the system, some features are included such as hierarchy structure, modular hardware, and structured software, to make the system suitable for a variety of robot applications through some hardware adjustment and software customization only. The effectiveness of proposed approach has been verified by a straight line motion demonstration of a series manipulator.
