The first examination for the Mumbai Malayalam Mission Kanikonna Certificate course was held at various centres across Mumbai on July 14. Around 2700 students appeared for the examination which was conducted in 36 centres. All students reached their respective centres by 10 am in order to complete the formalities like registration, collection of Hall tickets etc. The examination began at 11 am. The question papers and hall tickets were prepared at the Malayalam Mission office at Trivandrum. Kerala Government had appointed education experts Anil and Shyam along with the registrar Mr. Sudhakaran Pillai for conducting the examination smoothly. Mumbai Malayalam Mission President Novelist Balakrishnan & coordinator Ms. Rugmini Sagar also visited various centres where the exams were held. Vasai and Powai registered maximum attendance by the presence of 277 and 244 students respectively.
Teachers and supervisors appointed by the co-ordinators looked after the arrangements of their respective centres. The evaluation process was held at Kerala House, Vashi on July 15. Around 50 teachers participated in this process.
