fore more info about the EMERGENCY VEHICLE ALERT SYSTEM is given below::-
The present invention may be used for detecting sound frequency signals emitted by warning devices of emergency vehicles. A sensor may sense a selected frequency signal spectrum and may be in communication with an initial detection stage to detect a frequency of approximately 600 Hz and approximately 1400 Hz within a specific time interval. A signal identification stage may be in communication with said initial detection stage and may have a digital signal processor programmed to identify a wail and yelp warning signal to compare said warning signal to a histogram stored in a memory to estimate the distance from the sound frequency signal. The signal identification stage may be maintained in a power save mode until activated by said initial detection stage upon detection of a warning signal.

By alerting drivers that they are on a collision course with an emergency vehicle we can prevent accidents. We have patented an Emergency Vehicle Alert system that warns drivers when they are approaching an ambulance, fire engine, police or rescue squad using emergency lights. This device will reduce accidents and promote safety.
Anyone who drives an emergency vehicle is concerned about people driving into their path and causing an accident which will compound the emergency they are on and might cause another one. They are taught to drive defensively, even at the expense of speed, because an accident would cost them much more time than a slower speed.
Today, most cars are much more soundproof than ever before; most have air-conditioning so windows are usually closed; and many have high power stereos playing the radio or CD s at levels that cancel all sounds coming from outside the car. Other drivers are talking on cell phones. Some drivers are hearing impaired. These factors combine to make it difficult to build lights, sirens and horns that will alert the drivers inside their cars, especially if they are a block away.
Emergency vehicles have a hard time making people aware of their presence.
