working of wireless equipment control using at89c51

I have made the project of wireless equipment control using at89c51 but I am facing the following problems.

1 In the project the 16X2 lcd display is not showing any display even after loading the program in controller. It just shows 16 square boxes on screen instead if showing the display of setting time for four LED.

2 Ideally Pin no 17 of TRX434 should have high logic (5v) to transmit the signal to the receiver . But at pin no 17 I am getting the voltage between 0 to 1 V.
