Kesoram Cement Industry is one of the leading manufacturers of Cement in India. It is a dry process cement plant. The plant capacity is One Million ton s per annum. It is located at Basantnagar in Karimnagar Dist. of Andhra Pradesh. Basantnagar is 8 K.M. away from the Ramagundam Railway Station, linking Madras to New Delhi. The Chairman of the Company is Syt.B.K.Birla.
The first unit at Basantnagar with a capacity of 2.1lakh tones per annum is incorporating hum olds suspension pre-heater system was commissioned during the year 1969. The second unit was set up in the year 1971 with a capacity of 2.1 lakh ton s per annum and the third unit with a capacity of 2.5 lakh tones per annum went on stream in the year 1978. The coal for this company is being supplied by Singareni Collieries and the power from Captive Power Plant. The power demand for the factory is about 21 MW. Kesoram has got 2 DG sets of 4 MW each installed in the year 1987. Kesoram Cement has set up a 15 KW Captive Power Plant to facilitate for uninterrupted power supply for manufacturing of cement.
The company being a continuous process industry works round the clock and has an excellent record of performance achieving over 100% capacity utilization. In A.P. States Departments are located in different areas like Karimnagar, Warangal, Nizamabad, Vijayawada and Nellore. In the other states it has opened around 10 depots
