RADAR RECEIVER MODELING
#1

[attachment=4853]
INTRODUCTION

To model a radar receiver in order to understand the behavior of its subsystems and their effect on the overall performance of the receiver in terms of gain, noise figure etc.

Each and every subsystem of the receiver has been modeled using the customized design requirements in the given frequency band and the performance is evaluated at the output of these blocks.

The overall performance of the receiver is characterized by cascading these blocks and the budget calculations are analyzed to indicate the effects on detect ability of targets when component parameters are changed.

The Receiver Model:

The Receiver has been modeled by computing the cascaded Gain, Noise Figure, Return Loss, OIP3, Group Delay and VSWR from the extracted parameters of the individual components.

The overall gain of the receiver (in dB) is the sum of the gains/losses of the sub-systems.
GRx(dB)=GLNA(dB)+GRF-BPF(dB)+GMixer(dB)+GIF-BPF(dB)+GIF-AMP(dB)
