anchoring script for birthday party in english
#1

Birthdays are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of living, family and friends, while focusing on that special person whose "day" is.

After singing "Happy Birthday", blowing out the candles, making a wish and eating the cake, it's time for the speeches to begin.

And that's what you're here for - to take a few free speech birthday tips!

Use these tips to tailor your talk

Before writing the actual speech get the background information you need.
This determines what you will put, and the tone of the language you will use.

Is the birthday celebration planned formal or informal?

Who is invited? Is it strictly familiar? Family and friends? Coworkers?

Are you the only speaker? If so, what topic would your family / friends / co-workers focus on?

What tone would you like to use?

Generally, the tone is light, humorous, sincere and positive. Yes, you can make fun of the birthday person a bit, but within the limits of the occasion. Too much roasting, using too spicy or smutty language, or delving into sensitive subject areas could change the event from a happy to an unhappy birthday. Be careful!

If you are not the only speaker: who are the others and what is likely to cover? Also find out where in the order you talk they come.

How long are we expected to talk?
