speed control of stepper motor using gsm modem

Sir,

I am a b.tech final year student from Electronics and communication branch. I want to do an Project on controlling a stepper motor(start/stop) with the help of a GSM module(i.e by send a message from the mobile for the motor to start) with the 8051 as the microcontroller. I am thinking of applying this technique in the parking space with a gate, at some random apartment where you have lots of cars. I want to even put a counter initiated so that the 8051 counts how many number of cars are parked in the apartments while entering the gate.
I request you to guide me in my project with all the help you can do for me.
