I am trying to model prestress in Hollow Concrete Slabs in Abaqus CAE in 3D. I have set up the model with rebars (truss elements) embedded in the concrete slab (Brick elements).

However there is no CAE usage for prestress which means that presumably, the prestress can only be introduced in the generated script (the journal file .jnl).

Although the manuals indicate how prestress can be introduced ( Initial Conditions' and Prestress Hold'), the problem is that I have no experience with scripting or using python programming.

Would using a notepad suffice?
Can the PDE be utilised instead of an notepad?

Preferably I would like to have an example script of a simple beam model as an example for easy reference.
