Geneva drive or Maltese cross is a indexing mechanism that converts the continuous motion into intermittent motion. By means of this mechanism the rotary motion of the driver wheel is converting into intermittent rotary motion of sprocket. The film passed over the sprocket. Due to the intermittent motion, the film advanced frame by frame in front of lens for 1/24th second in frequency of 48 Hz.

i want to design geneva wheel . now i list down my reqiurements
1.i want to reduce the speed from 10000 rpm to 16 rpm.
2.i planned to create 5 slots
3.so in 4 stages i can reduce the speed from 10000 to 16 rpm
1st stage 10000/5 =2000
5 indicate the no of slots.
2nd stage 2000/5=400
3rd stage 400/5= 80
4th stage 80/5 =16 rpm
So in the 4th stage we get the required speed..

From this how can i find out the design of geneva mechanism
