Features of 8086:

It has 16 bit registers. The general purpose registers can be used as 8 bit or 16 bit registers. The general purpose registers are used for holding data or for storing the intermediate results of the arithmetic and logical operations. When compared to 8085, 8086 has segmented memory of one byte divided into 16 logical segments. Each logical segment consists of 64 kb of memory.
