to generate the sinusoidal PWM signals using FPGA (Xilinx FPGA SPARTAN 3, XC3S400)

The DC motors are applicable for effective speed control and high starting torque applications like traction, lift, etc. The Pulse Width Modulation twchnique of speed control can be used to obtain a a smooth speed variation without actually taxing in on the high starting torque of the motor. PWM technique also eliminate harmonics. Pulse-width Modulation is achieved with the help of a square wave whose duty cycle is varied to get a varying voltage output.
