ABSTRACT In the astronomy world, there is a need for high-performance radio telescopes operating at low frequencies. Such a telescope can be realized by a large network of small dipole antennas spread over an area of about 360 square kilometers. This antenna configuration requires a multi-terabit optical network to transport and collect the massive amounts of data picked-up from the sky. Within the Retina project, we have developed an architecture for such a multi-terabit optical network. In addition, new 160 Gbit/s line rate technology has bee ....etc

INTRODUCTION

Adaptive optics is a new technology which is being used now a days in ground based telescopes to remove atmospheric tremor and thus provide a clearer and brighter view of stars seen through ground based telescopes. Without using this system, the images obtained through telescopes on earth are seen to be blurred, which is caused by the turbulent mixing of air at different temperatures.
Adaptive optics in effect removes this atmospheric tremor. It brings together the latest in computers, m ....etc

SEMINAR REPORT ON FIBER OPTICS BASED COMPUTER NETWORK
INTRODUCTION

In recent years it has become apparent that fiber-optics are steadily replacing copper wire as an appropriate means of communication signal transmission. They span the long distances between local phone systems as well as providing the backbone for many network systems. Other system users include cable television services, university campuses, office buildings, industrial plants, and electric utility companies.
A fiber ....etc

This article presents a fiber-optics-based sensing network for fault detection in power systems. This scheme is considered secure and immune from interferences. A passive rugged fiber-Bragg-grating-based sensors are present a each of the monitoring locations. magnetostrictive transducers are used in the place of CT or PT for the purpose of converting the magnetically induced currents into optical signals. The temperature drift in these sensors can be easily compensated for. An increased fault current at a certain location causes a surge in the ....etc

Abstract:

This Project is designed to track the various positions of the sun using telescope (with the help of LDRs). The LDR senses the intensity of sunlight and sends the output to the microcontroller through ADC. The microcontroller compares the various intensities and directs the telescope to point towards the direction of sunlight having maximum intensity. The rotation of the telescope is controlled by motors .The value of the intensity of different LDRs is displayed on the LCD ....etc
