The Mobile Agent based Intrusion Detection System (MINDS) deploy mobile agents from a central control node to target machines, at pre specified time intervals. Mobile agents are objects that can migrate from node to node in a heterogeneous network, at times and to places of their own choosing. The state of the object is saved, transported to the new node, and restored, allowing the object to continue where it left off.
