INTRODUCTION

It s the new tallest tower in the world.

Construction began on 21 September 2004.

Height of the Tower is 828m(2717ft).

The total cost for the Burj Khalifa project was about US$1.5 billion.

The tower is designed to withstand high winds and seismic events.



INSPIRATION


Designers were motivated by the Hymenocallis genus's spidery, layered form.

As with all super-tall projects, difficult structural engineering problems needed to be addressed and resolved. This paper presents the approach to the structural system for the Burj Dubai Tower. This paper first presents the architectural knowledge and the comparison of the Burj Dubai tower with other tall buildings of the world.
