A STUDY ON WEAR AND EROSION PROPERTIES OF RAIL STEEL

Introduction:
Steels represent the most important group of engineering materials as they have the widest diversity of applications of any of the engineering materials. Generally, carbon is the most important element profoundly affecting the mechanical properties of the steels. The term steel is used for many different alloys of iron. These alloys vary both in the way they are made and in the proportions of the materials added ....etc

ABSTRACT

TOPIC : HELICALLY COILED HEAT EXCHANGERS

Process heat transfer with conventional shell and tube heat exchanger
is familiar to many engineers in many industries.Their use and performance is well-dominated. However, helically coiled heat exchangers, although they have been around for many years, are not well known.

Although various configurations are available, the basic and most common design consists of a series of stacked helically coiled tubes. The tube ends are connected to manifolds, which act as fluid entry and ....etc

hi i m e&c student.i want to do a project based on monitoring the bridges using optical fibres where in the intensity of the light sent through the fibres which run through the bridge is measured and in case of a damage in the bridge there wil b a change in the intensity of light..this serves as the indication that the bridge is on the verge of destruction and needs to be reconstructed and wil save many lives..pls help me with the topic ....etc

ABSTRACT

Objective:
To study the effect of fibres on the strength and behaviour of ultra high performance concrete (UHPC)wall panels under one way and two way in plane action.

Methodology:
The UHPC mix already developed (taken from literature) studied in detail with regard to its fresh and hardened properties and durability. Wall panels of size 750x750x35 mm are to be cast with different aspect ratio and volume fraction of fibres for testing under one way in plane action and two way in plane action. The specimen ....etc

ABSTRACT
Metals and plastics waste materials create serious environmental problems, mainly owing to the inconsistency of the wastes streams. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the possibility of using mixed iron filings and granulated plastic waste materials simultaneously to partially substitute the fine aggregate in concrete composites. Type I Portland cement was mixed with the aggregates to produce the concrete composites. Three weight fractions (30, 40, and 50%) of iron filings waste aggregate were used with 5% of g ....etc

Abstract :

The case study project is significant since mild steel is used in structure, case hardening, gears, free cutting steels, shafting, forging etc. Mild steel plates were tested for mechanical properties like hardness, tensile strength, yield point etc. Later on the plates were joined by submerged arc welding and the mechanical properties were estimated again. Also weld ability, harden ability, tensile test etc. were conducted for the same result. ....etc

Abstract
This paper focuses on the experimental investigation carried out on high strength concrete reinforced with hybrid fibres (combination
of hooked steel and a non-metallic fibre) up to a volume fraction of 0.5%. The mechanical properties, namely, compressive strength, split
tensile strength, flexural strength and flexural toughness were studied for concrete prepared using different hybrid fibre combinations
steel polypropylene, steel polyester and steel glass. The flexural properties were studied using four point bending t ....etc
