What is DAC? Digital to analog converter (DAC) is used to get analog voltage corresponding to an input digital data. Data in binary digital form can be converted to corresponding analog form by using a R-2R ladder (binary weighted resistor) network and a summing amplifier. It is more common and practical. Below is the circuit and output simulated waveform of R-2R ladder network DAC. This circuit also uses an op amp (741) summing amplifier circuit.

Sine wave can be generated using a Microcontroller by sending amplitude values of sine wave from microcontroller to a Digital to Analog Converter(DAC), then passing the output of DAC through a op-amp to get voltage signal and finally filtering the op-amp output voltage to get smooth sine wave. This method can be used with any microcontroller such as 8051, PIC, AVR etc.

The are many cool sensors available now a days, ranging from IR distance sensor modules, accelerometers, humidity sensors, temperature sensors and many many more(gas sensors, alcohol sensor, motion sensors, touch screens). Many of these are analog in nature. That means they give a voltage output that varies directly (and linearly) with the sensed quantity. For example in LM35 temperature sensor, the output voltage is 10mV per degree centigrade. That means if output is 300mV then the temperature is 30 degrees. In this tutorial we will learn how ....etc

I am designing an AM receiver with these components, active antenna,RF amplifier, BP filter ADC,Microprocessor(8051), DAC, audio amplifier and a speaker. the DSP part is really challenging me.I am aiming at using FIR filter, a program to processed by 8051 being interfaced by adc and dac! Any help is highly welcome! ....etc |
