Abstract

Stopwatches find use as time keeping devices in many fields, namely sports. Stopwatches may be analog or digital. Digital stopwatches are much more common the analog version owing to their higher accuracy and ease of use. Here we have tried to realize a digital stopwatch of reasonable accuracy and reliability.

This particular stopwatch can count up to 9 minutes and 59.9 seconds .It is accurate up to one tenth of a second. The circuit is relatively simple and easy to realize .The heart of the circuit is an a stable mv followed by ....etc

Simple digital stopwatch using at89s51 Microcontroller

Here's a simple digital stopwatch with AT89S51 microcontroller. Two common cathode type 7segment displays are used to display the time.
Operation:
The display will show 00 at the startup
Press the switch SP1 to get the watch to run
Press the switch again to stop the watch
To start the watch press the same switch again ....etc

Introduction

We know that 60 seconds equal to 1 minute and 60 minutes equal to 1 hour. Hence the minute section is drived by second section and hour section by the minute section. Each of the minute and second section has been designed to give a count from 00 to 59 after which it resets to 00. and the hour section to give a count from 00 to 23 hours after which it resets to 00. For each cycle of 00 to 59 in second section the minute section increases its count by 1. Similarly for each cycle of 00 to 59 in min ....etc
